  • The Coca-Cola Company

Buffett once claimed to eat at least five cans of Coca-Cola every day, which may explain why the Coca-Cola Company (KO) stock is his third-largest position. But one thing is for certain: Buffett appreciates the endurance of the company’s fundamental product, which has stayed practically constant over time, with the exception of the ill-fated “New Coke” formula repackaging in the mid-1980s. This makes sense, given that Buffett started buying Coca-Cola shares in the late 1980s following the stock market meltdown of 1987.

Berkshire Hathaway, managed by Warren Buffett, is a big shareholder in a slew of publicly traded firms. In addition to the top five indicated above, Berkshire’s top 10 holdings also include major interests in Moody’s (MCO), Verizon (VZ), U.S. Bancorp (USB), Chevron (CVX), and Bank of New York (BNY), among several others. In addition to these public enterprises, Berkshire also owns many privately-held firms such as GEICO Insurance, BNSF Railways, and Cypress Insurance.

As of early April 2022, Buffett’s net worth is $125.9 billion, making him the fifth-richest man in the world (he was #2 in 2015). At 91, Buffett shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. And while he could have an 11-figure wealth, Buffett apparently earns only $100,000 a year at Berkshire Hathaway and spends it judiciously.
