Sompo Hires Lawrence Doyle As Global Markets COO
Lawrence Doyle has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO), Global Markets by Sompo International, a global provider of consumer and commercial property and liability re/insurance.

In his new position, he will be in charge of operational performance as well as the implementation of crucial transformational projects across numerous functions, goods, and regions in order to support Global Markets and Sompo International’s ambitious growth targets.
Doyle has over 28 years of international insurance operational experience. He joins Sompo International from AIG, where he most recently held the role of Global Operations Executive. He has also held various operational leadership roles within AIG living and working in the UK, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the US.

Sompo’s new COO has a proven track record in championing and executing global strategies, empowering local teams, and navigating organizational shifts that will not only enhance our internal operations but well position the Global Markets business and Sompo International for future growth.
Commenting on his appointment, Doyle said: “I am excited to join Sompo International and have the opportunity to work with Julian and the Global Markets team as we build out our product offerings and build on our reputation as a market leader in the UK, Continental Europe, Latin America, and APAC regions.”

He will report to Julian James, Sompo International’s CEO, Global Markets, Commercial P&C.
