Ryan Specialty Selects LifeScienceRisk Leaders
Ryan Specialty, a managing general underwriter with a focus on the life sciences sector, has announced the appointments of Catherine Gill as CEO and Mark Wood as chairman of LifeScienceRisk (LSR).

Both positions are effective right away.
LifeScienceRisk has employed Gill as its chief underwriting officer since 2012. Together with Wood, who served as the CEO for the previous ten years, Gill established and expanded the business. With Catherine’s appointment, Wood now serves as LSR’s chairman.
Commenting on her new role, Gill, said: “I am honored and excited to take on the responsibilities of CEO and lead this outstanding underwriting team. Working with Mark Wood over the past ten years has been a pleasure; Mark has been an excellent teacher and mentor to me. I look forward to continuing to grow LSR as we move into the future.”

Both appointments join a string of recent hires that have been made by Ryan Specialty, including Waleed K. Husain, who was appointed Chief Risk Officer, and both Bill Evans and Chris Kelleher, who were named Co-presidents of the National Specialty Programs practice (NSP).
