Peak Re Appoints Piotr Nowakowski As Chief Underwriting Officer

Piotr Nowakowski, who is now Director, Head of Product Underwriting for Property and Casualty (P&C) division at Hong Kong-based global reinsurer Peak Re, has been named the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer.

Nowakowski will continue to be located in Hong Kong in his new position, where he will oversee the P&C business team with an emphasis on underwriting knowledge, portfolio management, and solution development.

Additionally, Franz Josef Hahn, Peak Re’s CEO, will receive his reports.

Nowakowski left Echo Re Switzerland, where he was the Chief Underwriting Officer for over ten years, to join Peak Re in January 2022. He spent more than 16 years working with SCOR before joining Echo Re, holding local, regional, and international positions. He spent nine of those years as general manager of SCOR’s Tokyo office for Japan.

Additionally, during his tenure at SCOR, he has also served as Head of Strategy & Development and General Secretary for the Global P&C business based in Paris.
