Hiscox Declares Jonathan Bloomer As Chair Designate
International specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed Jonathan Bloomer as Chair designate, subject to regulatory approval.
Bloomer will join the Board on June 1, 2023, to replace Robert Childs, who has announced his retirement on July 1.
Bloomer has extensive expertise as a top executive in the financial services industry. After working as a partner at Arthur Andersen, he joined Prudential plc in 1995 as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO), and then as its chief executive officer (CEO) from 2000 to 2005.

He most recently served as an executive at Cerberus, where he was an Operating Partner. As an experienced board director, Jonathan is now serving in the role of Chair at three different companies: Morgan Stanley International, DWF Group plc, and SDL Group Holdings Limited.

He has navigated many insurance cycles, mentored many underwriters, and leaves a legacy of integrity and strong results. We wish him all the best for the future.”
