Coaction Appoints William Sloan As EVP and CFO

William (Bill) Sloan has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of specialty property and casualty insurer Coaction.

Sloan’s responsibilities in his new position at Coaction include management of the company’s accounting, controllership, financial planning and analysis, tax, investor relations, asset management, and treasury departments. He will be working out of the firm’s New York headquarters.

With over 20 years of experience in finance, capital markets, and strategic advising roles, Sloan is an invaluable addition to the team.

Coaction Appoints William Sloan As EVP and CFO

He had a fruitful run as managing director and head of insurance solutions at Sculptor Capital Management before joining Coaction. Sloan has spent his entire career in executive leadership roles, most recently at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and formerly at J.P. Morgan Securities.

After beginning his career as a certified public accountant (C.P.A.) at Ernst & Young, he went on to develop expertise in the fields of global investment banking, alternative investment management, capital raising, strategic advisory services, capital market transactions, and initial public offerings (IPOs).

Coaction CEO Jonathan Ritz expressed his enthusiasm for Sloan’s appointment, stating, “This is an exciting time for Coaction. Over the past two years we have significantly increased the strength of our balance sheet, broadened our product offerings, expanded our distribution relationships, and deepened the underwriting and risk acumen of Coaction.

Sloan will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company and working closely with Gerald Ayash, the CAO. By working together, Sloan will be able to concentrate on his strengths as a capital manager, investor relations expert, and strategic advisor to CEO Jonathan Ritz.

Ayash is an experienced finance and operations professional with a strong background in managing the financial operations of insurance companies. After working as the CFO for Western World Insurance Group, he decided to join Coaction.
