AmTrust Welcomes Philpott And Camber To Property Insurance Division
As it strives to expand its Property book in the UK and other European markets, AmTrust Financial Services, a worldwide specialty property and casualty insurer, has announced the hiring of two new members to its Property Insurance division.

In the Property line of AmTrust International Specialty, Andy Camber joins as Lead Underwriter and Pete Philpott as Senior Underwriter. Both will be based in London.
Camber will be reporting to Bruce Whitmee, Chief Underwriting Officer at AEL, and brings with him more than 25 years of expertise in the London and Lloyd’s markets in the UK General Insurance industry’s Commercial Property division.
He joins from Brit Insurance, where he was a Class Underwriter for more than eight years, leading a team of underwriters delivering profitable results and long-term sustainability. Prior to that, he held senior underwriting roles at Amlin UK and Zurich Insurance.

Philpott has over 15 years of experience in the property sector of the London Market, both within Lloyd’s and the company space. He will be reporting to Camber.
In his previous roles at Argo, and latterly at RiverStone International, he was responsible for the profitable development and ongoing management of both the UK and European property classes. Philpott has previously held property underwriting roles at Amlin UK and Zurich Insurance.

Commenting on the new appointments, Whitmee said: “Underwriting specialized property risks is one of AmTrust’s strengths, and I am delighted to welcome Andy and Pete to the team, both of whom have strong records in this field.”
Camber said: “I look forward to contributing to the profitable growth of Property insurance at AmTrust where I will be working closely with the Property teams based in Nottingham, London, and Dublin. I am ready to take on the challenge of expanding AmTrust’s Property portfolio in the UK and other European markets.”
